Atomic Regions & Thick l’s

Q: My PDF proof has lines all over it?

atomic-1

A: Atomic regions are “stitch” lines (dotted or solid) where transparency has been flattened.  Viewed at a higher magnification they will either go away completely or remain as hairlines and will not appear in print.
Solution: You can only turn them off in Acrobat Professional (untick Smooth line art).

Atomic-2

Screen below shows smooth line art has been disabled in Adobe Acrobat Professional and has stopped the lines appearing on screen.

Atomic-4

thickiesQ: Why does a lower case L  in any PDF Viewer look too thick?

A: The fastest way to display the PDF file in a PDF viewer is to display straight lines where possible.

Solution: View at higher magnification.
The thickness goes away.
